Exchange and cooperation

In addition to distance courses, Tamkang University also cooperated with Japan’s U-CAN to develop a database of Chinese calligraphy and fonts. This technical research project came to an end at the end of 2008. Currently, about 30 materials have been collected on the inheritance of Chinese calligraphy, the original Liu of Taiwanese calligraphy, the promotion of calligraphy in Taiwan over the past 50 years, Taiwan’s 100 contemporary calligraphers, Taiwan’s writing and calligraphy education, calligraphy tools, calligraphy and inscriptions, the development of international calligraphy, the modern art of calligraphy, hard-pen calligraphy and calligraphy activities. More than 10,000 words of content have been typed, and scans of pictures are currently being produced. This calligraphy database website will have quite complete content.
